Introduction to Blueprint Reading (Every Tuesday)

$265/person (Member), $530/person (Non-Member) *price includes textbookThe Introduction to Blueprint Reading course is geared for those with limited or no blueprint reading experience. Both field and office personnel are encouraged to participate. Upon completion of the six-week course, participants will be able to:Interpret line conventions, abbreviations and symbolsUnderstand the different scales used on drawings and recognize the difference between architect's scale and engineer's scale drawingRead and interpret the notes and schedules located on drawingsReview and understand basic construction drawings including plan views, elevations, sections and detailsPerform coordination exercises using several drawings, for example, coordination between architectural and structural drawingsPerform simple quantity take-off exercisesEach participant is responsible to bring a yellow highlighter and pencil or pen to make notes on the blueprints.
